japan 6/19

my first week of camp is done!

It was an awesomely exausting week with a whole lot of drama!!! i dont think that it could have gone any other way though...

First the kids were nuts! they have energy for days, and it is very exuasting dealing with 10 to 15 kids. I was paired up with the 12 to 15 year olds, and it was a challenge. They are all way too concerned with being too cool so it makes it very difficult to keep them in line. I think that for the most part, the kids are good but when they get around their friends they forget to be sensable and like to do what ever their hormones tell them to....

I also worked with all the kids in all ages and i can safely say that i made the right decision on not becoming an elementary school teacher. I love the fact that the kids love songs and dont care about looking silly, but they are so hard to keep settled down! I can't imagine what a parent goes through! so for that, THANK YOU MOM AND DAD!!! i finally have a small idea of what it means to be a parent!

Finally we had two of the most adorrible little japanese kids..... they were so awesome! i dont want to post their names for safety on both ends, but they were amazing! They always had little bento lunches and they looked almost exactly alike.... so cute! their mom even gave us little goodie bags for working in the camp!!!!

So with another blog post up... (sorry for the delay) i hope that things are well with everyone back home, and i hope that the summer has been as amazing summer for you!

Japan 6/6

Today was the first day off. We headed up to Yokohama, and checked out Chinatown and went to Bape! it was really rad, but super expensive. We broke up from 3 others in our group and then tried to find the Ramen Museum, but we had no luck. We also met this weird Japanese dude who was terrible with directions..... oh well

Hmm, what else? the weather has been rain and clouds most of the time. Nothing to brag about.

Rumor has it, that there is a liquor  that is called Kabusaki. It is intense! i havent tried any and i dont intend to, but it is basically an alcohol that has venomous snakes that were drownded in it. The venom from the snakes gets mixed up with the alcohol and it makes for a very potent drink. crazy stuff!

I will be trying to post some pictures and other things to fill everyone in on what is going on in the land of the rising sun!
